Enrollments/BookingsCan a child come without being enrolled at the centre?
An enrolment form must be fully completed for each family before the child can attend the centre.
How do I enrol at the centre?
For instructions on how to enrol at KidsConnect Australia OSHC please contact the KCA team at the Service you would like to attend and an Enrolment Pack will be emailed to you.
My details are the same as last year, do I need to provide another enrolment form?
Yes, it is important and a requirement of the National Quality Framework that we need to have an up to date enrolment form on our system. You are also required to contact the Service Coordinator if you have any changes to your enrolment form details during the year; for example, change of address, custody orders, medical information or change of phone numbers etc…
How do I add an authorised person to collect my child?
Any person who you want authorised to collect your child must be given to the centre in writing. Families can add additional people to their collection list either on their enrolment form or at any later date in writing. Information that will be required is their full name, address and phone number.
Staff will check photo ID upon collection of any new authorised contacts, Authorised persons picking up children will be required to electronically sign out the children.
Do I have to have permanent days?
No, you can have a permanent or casual booking.
Permanent bookings are those bookings where the same weekly sessions have been scheduled for your child week after week and a discounted session rate is applicable for permanent bookings.
Child/ren are charged if absent from a permanent session, permanent bookings need to be cancelled with KCA Staff requiring two weeks written notice of the cancellation of a booking.
Please notify staff in writing if your child will not be attending at their scheduled session.
Casual bookings are sometimes available, please contact the centre to book children into a casual session
What will my child be doing at Before School Care and After School Care?
Children are encouraged to develop with the KCA team a range of indoor/outdoor activities that are programmed for the children on a daily basis.
Children are encouraged to play and relax in a safe, caring and stimulating environment. The Centre encourages the children to have a healthy respect for themselves and other people. The weekly program is displayed on the notice board for parents and children to view in their own time.
Drop Off/ Pick UpWhat is the Dropping off and Picking up of Children Procedure
The Centre aims to provide a procedure for dropping off and picking up children which is clear and ensures the safety and wellbeing of the children in care. Parents are required to follow specific communication procedures to ensure appropriate care of their children is provided.
Parents/Guardian over the age of 18yrs must sign in/sign out their child/children on the electronic daily attendance register each session.
What should I do when I pick my children up?
When you collect your child/ren you need to electronically sign them out with the use of a personal PIN.
Children need to be collected by a responsible adult that is documented as a collection person on your enrolment form and is 18yrs and over. Children will not be allowed to leave with anyone that is not noted on the enrolment form.
What if I am late picking up my child?
Children must be collected by 6pm each day or a late fee will be charged as per our policies and procedures, contact the centre for more details.
Parents should phone the centre if unavoidably detained to specify what alternate arrangements should be made otherwise the nominated emergency contact will be phoned.
If no arrangements can be made, the Department of Community Services will be contacted to discuss the child’s care for the evening.
GeneralIs KidsConnect Australia OSHC an Approved Service?
Yes we are an approved service, this means you are eligible to claim the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) payments under the Family Assistance Law.
Where do we find the KCA centres Policies?
All KidsConnect Australia Centre Policies & Procedures are available to view at the centre.
Do all KidsConnect Australia Staff hold qualifications?
KidsConnect Australia team members are qualified as per the National Quality Framework, Legislated Regulations and have demonstrated experience in working at OSHC services.
All team members employed by KidsConnect Australia must provide the appropriate security checks before they are accepted. On employment, all team members must provide a copy of a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), which we verify through the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian.
What should I do if I have concerns or feedback?
The Centre believes that parents have an important role in the running of the centre and value parent’s comments. The Centre aims to ensure that parents feel free to communicate any concerns they have in relation to the centre, staff, management, programs or policies without fearing negative consequences, and that they are made fully aware of the procedures to do this. Our priority is to do everything possible to improve the quality of our service.
What about sun safety?
KidsConnect Australia OSHC follow both the Cancer Council Guidelines/Policy and our own OSHC policy, where we believe in educating children about sun safety. We follow the daily UV ratings, hats are encouraged and KCA follow the school guidelines of “No Hat, No Play”. Children are assisted in applying sunscreen regularly and if your child has reactions to particular sunscreens you are welcome to provide your own.
